Dr. Victor Abbey is a strategic leadership consultant, change and risk management authority, mentor, public speaker, and author with over twenty-two years of multidisciplinary experience spanning military service, corporate organizations, state institutions, and private security environments.

As the Lead Consultant of The Abbey Consult, he works with senior executives, government leaders, and institutions seeking to strengthen leadership capability, build resilient organizations, and navigate complex strategic environments.

Dr. Abbey brings a rare operational depth to leadership advisory, shaped by his service as a commissioned officer in the Ghana Armed Forces after graduating from the Ghana Military Academy in 2003.

During his military career he held several critical command and staff appointments including:

  • Platoon Commander
  • Officer Commanding of the Wa and Bawku detachments of the elite Airborne Force
  • Instructor at the Ghana Army Combat Training School
  • Aide-de-Camp to the Chief of the Defence Staff

His leadership during security operations in Bawku earned national recognition, reflecting his ability to lead effectively in high-pressure operational environments.

Dr. Abbey also served on several international peace support missions including the United Nations Mission in Liberia, the United Nations Operation in Côte d’Ivoire, and the United Nations Organization Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, where he gained valuable exposure to complex multinational operations and crisis environments.

Following his voluntary retirement from active military service in 2012, Dr. Abbey transitioned into corporate and institutional leadership development, helping organizations strengthen leadership systems, manage risk, and navigate complex operational environments.

His academic and professional credentials include:

  • Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) – SBS Swiss Business School, Zurich
  • Commonwealth Executive MBA – Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology
  • MA in Alternative Dispute Resolution – University of Ghana School of Law
  • BA (Hons) in Philosophy and Archaeology – University of Ghana

He has also completed executive training programmes in leadership, crisis management, project management, corporate governance, and occupational safety from globally respected institutions including Geneva Centre for Security Policy, United Nations Institute for Training and Research, and the International Labour Organization.

Dr. Abbey has received multiple international recognitions for leadership, philanthropy, and youth development including the African Achievers Award in the United Kingdom and the Leaders Beyond Borders Award in Dubai.
